Let’s Talk Tea| Magic & Science Gals – Pineapple Potion (Tisane) | Review

Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing Magic & Science Gals – Pineapple Potion dried fruity tisane. I’ve done quite a few posts featuring Magic & Science Gals teas and tisanes on my blog so far and I’ve enjoyed pretty much all of their blends that I have had the pleasure of trying so when they asked if I wanted to collaborate with them again I just couldn’t have said no. So they very kindly sent me two of their new infuser bottles and a selection of their new dried fruit tisanes to try as well as two new loose leaf tea blends. When going through the package they sent this tisane was the first of the dried fruit tisanes that stood out to me first because of my love for pineapple and coconut so I just had to review it first. 57348129_443611299713063_4282149073479270400_n.jpgHere’s what the Magic & Science Gals have to say about this blend on their website: Abracadabra allacazam…Magic & Science Organic Dried Fruit Potions are a delightful organic blend of Chinese herbal tea, flowers, and freeze dried fruits. The science of the tea composition provides a variety of vitamins, fruit acid and minerals, and the tea contains no caffeine or tannins. After brewing or steeping, a spellbinding aroma and original flavour of the fruit linger in the air and on your taste buds. Magic & Science tea drinkers will enjoy the fresh unveiling presence of the colourful fruit particles found in each potion.

Tisane Tasting Notes

I’ll be honest when while I was excited about the Pineapple and Coconut I was a little bit worried by the fact that there was more cranberries in this blend than anything else. I’m not really a huge fan of cranberries so I didn’t quite know what to expect from them when it came to this blend and how it was going to taste. This blend is all pineapple and coconut with an amazing natural sweetness and a delicate floral aftertaste from the rosehips. I’ve only had this with still water so far but something tells me that it would make an amazing tea pop when prepared with some coconut sparkling water. I also think it would make for an amazing tea ice pop or sorbet base so when my tea buying ban is over I may have to buy some more to experiment. I would never have this hot though because I just know that it wouldn’t be my cup of tea (pardon my pun) it’s just far too fruity and I can’t stomach fruity tisanes hot.

As I said earlier the pineapple and coconut are the stand out notes for me with the pineapple being the stronger of the two providing a fruity punch and a natural sweetness. The coconut paired perfectly with the pineapple and made this such a tropical treat that I could see myself drinking all summer long. I can’t say I could really pick out what the cranberries were adding to this blend because of the pineapple and coconut being such strong notes but the rose hips came through in the aftertaste and added a soft floral note that I wasn’t expecting at all. Overall I enjoyed this blend a lot and it’s made me very excited to try the other dried fruit blends that the Magic & Science Gals very kindly sent. I’ll be buying so many more bags of this tisane as soon as my tea buying ban is over becuase I can’t think of another tisane I would rather drink all summer long.

Overall Teacup Rating: 5/5
