Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing Adagio’s Peach Bellini tisane. Most people I knew will only drink iced teas and tisanes during summer but I drink them all year round so while I know this post is probably a little more fitting for summer I simply couldn’t wait to try this tisane because I make iced teas and tisanes everyday. So rather than hold this post back until summer time I wanted to truly reflect my drinking habits and just review it whenever I was ready. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now you’ll know I absolutely love peach and that I’m always on the look out for blends that have peach in their ingredients so when I saw that this tisane had been included in the box that Adagio sent I knew it had to be one of the first tisanes in there that I tried.Here’s what Adagio have to say about this tisane on their website: Break out the grass skirt and lei because we’re going tropical! This sunny herbal tea blends the refreshingly zesty flavours of peach, strawberries, mango pineapple and papaya. The aroma alone will evoke feelings of relaxing on an exotic island getaway. Pour your freshly steeped tea over some ice for a cool treat and you may as well have captured summertime in a cup! All you need is tiny pink umbrella as the finishing touch.

Ingredients: Apple pieces, Orange, Natural peach flavour, Strawberries, Rose petals, Mango pieces, Pineapple pieces, Apricots and Papaya flavour. | I can’t even begin to tell you all just how happy I was to open this and see that their wasn’t any Hibiscus in this blend. I feel like every fruit tisane has Hibiscus in it at the moment and I hate it and so I was really glad to see that it wasn’t included in this blend.

Tisane Tasting Notes

This is one of the best peach teas I’ve tired in a while it reminded me so much of peach ring gummy sweets and made me feel rather nostalgic. As you will all know by now I don’t drink alcohol now and even when I did drink alcohol (many moons ago) I never got round to trying a Peach Bellini so whether or not this blend taste like the cocktail that has inspired it I won’t know the difference and because of that I had no expectations going into trying this tisane so it would have been rather hard for it to let me down.

I was expecting the strong sweet peach from the aroma to become much more muted after steeping but it didn’t waver at all and was still just as strong standing up to the over ingredients in the blend. Aside from the peach there is also quite a strong pineapple note that that leads into apricots and hints of strawberry in the aftertaste! I really did expect the rose in this to overpower everything in this blend but I could hardly pick it out at all especially when I cold brewed it. Even though this blend has a lot of apple pieces in it you get hardly any apple notes at all and instead it just adds a delicious natural sweetness.

Cold brewed it’s reminiscent of a fruity juice and it’s insanely fruity but it’s also  has very light and refreshing flavour. The peach is the stand out notes but it has a tropical note to it as well probably from the pineapple that I can’t get enough of those of you who know me well will know just how much I love pineapple so I’m always looking for blends that contain it. Like I said the only way in which this blend falls flat when it’s cold brewed is that the rose hardly comes through and because of that I had to try it steeped hot to see how different it was the cold brewed version I loved.

You all know I never really enjoy fruity tea and tisane blends steeped hot mostly because almost all of them right now have hibiscus in and hot hibiscus I just can’t stomach. But with this blend being hibiscus free I wasn’t as hesitant as I normally would be to try it hot. Steeped hot the peach is still the stand out note but the more muted fruity notes like the pineapple, mango, apricot, papaya and strawberry were pretty much completely lost and the rose was much stronger finishing off each mouthful with a deliciously sweet floral note. For me this blend is a blend that is meant to be iced that’s not to say that it isn’t nice steeped hot. It’s just has a little more depth to it cold brewed and much more balance. The absence of those other fruity notes in the hot version was noticeable and really effected my overall enjoyment of the blend.
