Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing The Queens Royal Blend from The Milana Tea Co. They very kindly sent me three of their blends to try and out of them all I had to start off with this one because I’m loving blends with lavender and rose in them and this not only has both but also has a black tea base. I honestly couldn’t think of a blend better suited to my tastes right now.

These flowers scattered among the leaves of the finest organic Assam tea hide enormous relaxation intentions. Glow from inside and out with this comforting blend. “
Ingredients: Assam Black Tea, Orange Peel, Rose Petals, Lavender and Cornflowers.
Tea Tasting Notes
The queen’s blend – After recently trying a Chai blend with lavender and rose and surprisingly loving it I was really excited to see that I had been sent another blend that includes them both. I couldn’t wait to see if I would love this blend as well as normally I’m really picky with floral blends as they can trigger my migraines sometimes but luckily that wasn’t the case with this blend. The lavender and the rose are actually quite subtle and more than anything the black tea is truly the star of the show. As someone who’s a huge fan of black tea especially Assam to have the tea be the star of the show over everything was great and I see why this blends has won awards before.
The top notes of this blend certainly came from the Assam and it’s classic robust malty and woody notes, then come the rose and lavender adding a delicate floral note and then the orange peel rounding each mouthful off with a delicious citrus touch. There are countless ways in which a blend like this could have gone wrong but luckily the team at The Milana Company have clearly worked really had to make sure they got this blend just right and as a result it’s really well balanced.
The mouthfeel is smooth but after a few mouthfuls it is a little bit drying. The rose and the lavender add a nice softness to it as well. I added absolutely nothing to this blend and that’s honestly how I would recommend you drink it. Milk would be too much for it and it really doesn’t need any sweetener added to it at all. It’s not particularly naturally sweet but because it is so well balanced it just doesn’t need that element. I wouldn’t suggest adding milk or trying to make a latte with this blend you should just enjoy it for the delicious blend that it is.
This is the first blend I’ve ever tried from the Milana company and I have two more to try that they sent along with this so I’m even more excited to jump into trying them after such a good start with this one.
