Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing Forest Witch Teas – Frodo Baggins Tisane. This tisane is a Green Rooibos based blend with vanilla and mint. This is sadly the last of the Forest Witch Teas – Lord of The Rings Teas that I have to review. If you’ve been reading my blog for the last year you will know that I have loved pretty much every single blend I have ever tried from them and because of that I know that this won’t be the last time they feature on my blog.

Once I finally lift my self imposed tea buying ban I will definitely be making an order with Forest Witch Teas because there are so many more of their blends that I want to try out. I don’t even care that they are based in Canada and the shipping will probably cost me a bit, Mia’s amazing blends are absolutely worth it. If they are all anything like any of Mia’s blends that I’ve tried I am in for such a treat once I make that order.

This is what Mia (the founder of Forest Witch Teas) has to say about this blend over on the Forest Witch Teas website: ”Frodo Baggins is a delicious cup of green rooibos tea, blended with lemongrass, a hint of mint, and a swirl of vanilla. When creating Frodo, I kept imagining him sitting in the tall grass, reading something full of adventure, just like the opening scene of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.”

Tisane Tasting Notes

I’ll be honest when I saw this blend had mint in it I was a little bit worried as mint normally triggers my migraines but Mia promised me that the mint wasn’t a super strong element in this blend and nice and soft so I went into trying it hoping she was right and that it would be soft and subtle enough that it wouldn’t trigger my migraines and luckily it didn’t.

This mint really is a soft note in this blend and definitely not the top note. To me this blend tastes a lot like Murray Mints (Murray Mints are a traditional sweet here in the UK) and I love it for that because Murray Mints are delicious and whenever I come across them I will always pick them up. Just like Murray Mints this blend is buttery and creamy with a nice soft vanilla note and subtle mint flavor. From my first sip of this blend, Murray Mints were all I could think off and I finished my first cup so quickly because of that. The lemongrass didn’t really come through much for me while this blend was hot but It did come through a little as it started to cool.

I honestly didn’t mind that though because this blend tastes exactly like my favourite hard candy and I think that lemon would have thrown it off a little bit. The Green rooibos base is a deliciously light  with a lovely mellow taste and a slight natural sweetness which I think was the perfect choice for this blends base.In terms of steeping time this is another one of those blends that just gets better and better the longer you steep it so I recommend steeping it for as long as you want to. This is another blend that will be perfect for me when I make the train journey to Manchester to see my family because I can put it in my flask in the morning and it can steep all day and it will only get better. Also I find the vanilla comes out a little more the longer you steep it which is great. You literally can no go wrong with this blend.

I recommend simply just drinking this on it’s own its naturally sweet enough that it doesn’t need any honey (another bonus) and it’s notes are far to light for milk and you would just be drinking slightly flavoured hot milk in the end and nobody wants to do that.
