Hey there Teacups! I hope you’ve all had a good weekend so far and if not I hope the coming week is better for you. I’m back today with a Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing Nuditea’s – Biscuit Blend. When Nuditea asked me which of their blend I wanted to try out and review for this series, this particular blend was the top of the list because it sounded amazing. Those of you that know me well will know that I love dessert blend and blends themed after classic sweet treats so when I saw they did a biscuit inspired blend I just know I had to try it out and see if it really was going to taste like my favourite tea time biscuits. I already have a biscuit inspired blend that I love and manages to replicate that flavour profile pretty well so going into this tasting session I was interested to see if this one would compare to that or if it would be much better and replace that blend taking it’s top spot.

Here’s what Nuditea themselves have to say about this blend over on their website: “Biscuit Blend was created as an answer to our afternoon sugar cravings. Our goal was to create a blend with all the goodness of tea, and all the tastiness of your favourite dunking biscuit.”
“And we did it! By combining two different types of black tea for a well-rounded base, that’s as good with milk as it is without, and adding in some Cacao Nibs, for some extra chocolatey goodness.”
Ingredients: Sri Lankan and Indian Assam Black Tea, Cacao Nibs, Oat Flowering Tops, Natural Flavouring

Tea Tasting Note
For this tasting session I tried this blend three ways: on it’s own (hot), with just honey added (hot) and then with honey and milk added (hot). Out of them all I would say my favourite way to have this is with both honey and milk added. On it’s own while I definitely got a overall biscuit like vibe from it, the black tea was a little too strong and was stopping the biscuty notes from coming through as much as I would have liked. The black tea base was delicious and I think that the choice to use two different black teas for the base was a great choice on behalf of Nuditea it results in a really well rounded, hearty, robust black tea base without the addition of honey or milk though for my personal taste it as a little too much for the other notes to fight against to stand out.
I could pick out the cacao but it was very subtle, I knew it had the potential to come forward a little more though so I knew I had to add honey and milk to experiment and see what would balance the elements of this blend out a little bit. With just honey the chocolate notes come through much more and definitely started to taste much more biscuty after that little bit of extra sweetener was added in. To me it definitely tastes like chocolate dipped malted milk biscuits which I haven’t actually had in a long time but really want multiple packets off after trying this blend. Once I realised what it reminded me of there was no way I could have finished this tasting session without adding in some milk and seeing how much it effect the overall flavour profile.

Once I added in the milk this was like dinking liquid chocolate dipped malted milk biscuits and it made me so happy. The heavy malty notes from the black tea base paired with the creaminess of the milk and subtle chocolate notes all worked so perfect together and replicated the flavour profile of one of my favourite biscuits perfectly. The addition of the milk toned down the black tea a little bit, took away the astringency and helped stop this cup being too drying in the mouth like the other two were because of the strength of the black tea. This is definitely the one way I will drink this blend from now on, it works perfectly and blows even my favourite biscuit blend out of the water taking it’s top spot without a shadow of a doubt.
I’ve been reaching for this blend to start off my mornings but I can see it being a great after dinner sweet treat as well as long as you aren’t too sensitive to caffeine. This will be a blend I will repurchase time and time again and I may even have to break my buying ban to purchase a new bag as the one I currently have will not last me long at all. If you’re a loved of biscuits or a lover of dessert blend I highly recommend trying this one out I have no doubt in my mind that you will love this just as much as I do.
Overall Teacup Rating: 5/5
