Hey there Teacups.. Happy Matcha Monday! I asked recently over on Instagram what you would like to see me do more of for Matcha Monday and quite a few of you said you would like me to share more of my Matcha Recipes. So, with summer officially here I thought I would share my Pineapple Matcha Refresher recipe with you all. It’s honestly a really simple recipe and you really don’t need much to put it together at all but it makes for such a fantastic refreshing summer treat.
What You Will Need
– Matcha (2 1/2 Matcha Scoops of ceremonial Matcha ( 1tsp and a half)
– Pineapple Juice
– 4oz of Water (118ml)
– 12 Ice Cubes (or enough ice cubes to fill your chosen cup)
The Cup I used for this is a 14oz cup
How To
1- Fill you chosen cup with ice. For this recipe I used a clear 14oz tumbler with a lid and a straw (because i’m very clumsy). I used 12 ice cubes and that is just the right amount to fill this cup.
2 – Take you matcha (2 1/2 Matcha Scoops / 1 1/2 Tsp) and your 4oz of water and whisk until frothy and smooth. Normally I would use my matcha bowl and my whisk to prepare my matcha for but for recipes like this I simply add my matcha and water to a protein shaker and shake until the matcha is ”dissolved” and you have built a good froth up.
3 – Once you have prepared your matcha this is where you can add sweetener if you want to but I didn’t feel the need to as pineapple juice is sweet enough for me. If you do want to add sweetener simply add it to your protein shaker with your matcha and shake again until its combined. Then pour it over ice.
4 – After pouring it over ice be sure to stir it. After doing that it’s finally time to add in the pineapple juice. My cup was just under half way full before I added the pineapple juice and I filled the rest of my cup when I added it in. Being sure to stir for a minute or two to make sure the matcha, ice and pineapple juice are all fully mixed together.
5) Now you’re done! See I told you it was really easy to make. The last step is simply to sip on this while relaxing in your garden on a nice sunny day. Though even when the weather is bad this drink is still great and taste like summer in a cup!
If you end up giving this recipe a try please tag me in your posts or send me the links to your videos because I would love to hear what you think of it. It’s very simple and I know I’m definitely not the first person to combine matcha and pineapple but at least I did it with actual pineapple juice and not sugary syrups. This to me tastes much more natural and is way more enjoyable. I’m so glad you all want to see more recipes going forward for Matcha Monday I can’t wait to come up with new ones and be more creative over the next few months.
As always if you have any questions at all either stick them in the comments or send them to me on Twitter/Instagram @teaisawishblog and I’ll answer them all as soon as I can.
Speak to you all again soon. Happy Steeping – Kimberley
